1.3 TUX PAINT WINDOW INTERFACE
Gowri: Let’s learn about different components of Tux paint windows.

1.3.1 Drawing Canvas
It is the area or a canvas where you can make your drawing.

1.3.2 Toolbox

It is a toolbox which contains various tools like new, painting, erasing,

saving and opening drawing. You also get various tools for drawing
which are explained later.

1.3.3 Colors Palette

It is the palette from where you can select your choice colors.

1.3.4 Selector
It is the pane to select different options available with the tool.

1.3.5 Help/Information Area

It is the bottom part of Tux paint windows which shows the information about

selected Tool.
Aryan: Ok, I will remember the names of components to understand easily when you mention
them.

Gowri: Yes, Now let’s draw in it.

1.4 CREATING A NEW DRAWING & DRAWING TOOLS
When you open Tux Paint it shows a blank white canvas for you to draw in.

Aryan: I want to draw a house. Please tell me how to do it.
Gowri: Yes, it’s very easy… First select shapes in toolbox and then select Square from under
shapes component. There are 2 squares. One represents the unfilled and other filled. If you
use filled than your square will come filled with colour you have selected from colors palette.
