2.5 APPLICATIONS OF COMPUTER
1. With the help of computer, you can type a document, create presentations for
your school projects.

2. Computer can be used for entertainment like listening
music, watching movies etc.

3. You can search information on internet or send e-mail
using computer.

4. At hospital it is used to store medical information
and record of patients.

5. At bank, computer is used to keep records of accounts of customer.

6. At school, computer is used for teaching and learning.
7. At railways or Airports, Computer is used to keep record of passengers, to
book tickets or to cancel tickets.

Let us revise what we have learnt:

A computer consists of four main components: Input Devices, CPU, Output
Devices, and Memory Unit.

Input devices allow users to provide data to the computer.
The CPU processes the input and generates output, controlling all other parts

of the computer.
Output devices display or present the processed data.

Memory units store data and information for easy access and processing.

Hardware refers to the physical devices, that are used with the computer.

Software includes the programs and applications, that run on a computer.
