                 4.3.2 Saving a Document

Whenever we create a new document, we need to name the document and navigate
to the location where we want to save the document for future reference.
The LibreOffice assigns a default name as Untitled1.odt as soon as we create a new

document. The name can be seen at the top left corner of the document on the Title
bar. Here Untitled 1 is the name of the document and odt is the extension for the
document writer file. Odt stands for Open Document Text.

It is always advisable to thoughtfully name the document as soon as we create the
document and save it to a folder of our choice. Giving a meaningful name and storing
it in an appropriate location helps us to search our documents at a later stage easily.

We can save a document by pressing save icon on a standard toolbar or by

choosing the save option from File menu or by simply using the shortcut key Ctrl+S.
A window shown below will appear where we can provide a name and also can select a
location where we would like to save the document.
