8.3 CHANGING BACKGROUND IN SCRATCH— “LOOKS” BLOCK

These blocks are “stack” blocks.

8.3.1 “switch backdrop to…” block

It is used to change the background of stage to a specific background which is
chosen already.

8.3.2 “next backdrop” block

It is used to change the background to next background from the selected list of
backgrounds.

Let’s Learn this by an activity given next.

Activity 8.3

Add a sprite of your own choice and change the background of stage after 1
second to next background. Repeat the process 2 times.
Ans:

Step 1: Add a sprite “ball” from a “Choose a sprite”
icon from the “sports” tab and remove the
already added sprite “cat” from sprite list.

Step 2: Click on “Events” block and drag “when flag

clicked” block in the script area.
