Aryan: We learnt how to create stories and dramas in previous chapters of Scratch
with different backgrounds, messages, floating and flying of the sprites and many
more. But in the previous activity we learnt the script to float the fish in water. But
in the script, we have written glide block 4 times then fish floats for 4 times only.
Could it be possible for fish to float every time and this will not stop till the script
runs.
Gowri: Yes Dear! It is possible in Scratch to repeat the same script infinite times.
For this following block will be used.
9.1 “FOREVER” BLOCK—“CONTROL” BLOCK
The “forever” block is also known as “C-block” and is used to repeat the blocks
written inside this block for infinite number of times. A C-block is shaped like the
letter “C”, allowing any number of instruction blocks to be placed within it.
Let’s understand this “forever” block with the same activity we did in the previous
chapter of floating fish in water.
Activity 9.1
Add a sprite “Fish” and change the background of stage as ocean. And this time
float the fish in ocean continuously rather than 4 times.
Ans:
Step 1: Add a sprite “Fish” from a “Choose a Sprite” icon from the “Animals”
tab and remove the already added “cat” sprite from the sprite list.
