9.5 DRAW NEW BACKGROUND
Gowri: As you know, you can draw
new sprites and costumes, you can
also draw a new background too.
This is one more interesting thing I
                       want to tell you now.
Aryan: What is it? Please tell me dear.
Gowri: You can upload the pictures to create a new
sprite, even you can upload pictures for creating new
costume and as well as for creating new background Fig. 9.13
from upload symbol (shown in Fig. 9.14) from the list
that appears when you hover the pointer over icons
“Choose a sprite”, “Choose a costume” or “Choose a
backdrop” (shown in Fig. 9.14 one example of choose
                       sprite icon)

Aryan: Oh Wow! How nice Scratch is. I love to work
on it and I am too happy to learn all these features.
But I had not heard any sounds in our projects. It’s
like we are watching mine stories, or like we are
watching the TV in mute form. So, what should we
do to create sounds in our project?
Gowri: Yes dear. Like backgrounds, colors and sizes
of sprites, sprites can also play sounds as well. But
we will learn this in the next class.
Aryan: OK. That’s good. It means it
will be more interesting in the next
                       class as well.                                                         Fig. 9.14

9.6 UPLOAD SPRITE, UPLOAD COSTUME AND
                         UPLOAD BACKGROUNDS

Aryan: Hey Gowri, how do I add my own character in Scratch?

Gowri: That’s easy! Just click on "Upload Sprite"—you can add any image from your computer, and
                  it will become a sprite.

Aryan: Oh cool! What if I want to change how the sprite looks?
Gowri: Then use "Upload Costume". It lets you give your sprite a new outfit or pose by uploading a
                  different image.
Aryan: Got it! And how do I change the background of my project?
Gowri: Click "Upload Background". You can choose any picture from your computer, and it will show
                  up behind your sprite.
Aryan: That’s awesome! Thanks, Gowri. Now I can make my Scratch game look just the way I want!

                  Gowri: Yup! Have fun creating!
