9.4 CREATING SHORTCUTS

Aryan: Wonderful! I have understood completely. Now I want to know about
shortcuts. How can we create shortcuts?

Gowri: Firstly I tell you, what are shortcuts?. A shortcut is a link
to an object (such as a file, folder, or program) on our computer.
You can create shortcuts and then place them in a convenient
location of our use.

Aryan: Then how can we distinguish the shortcut from the original file?

Gowri: Shortcuts can be distinguished from the original file by the arrow that appears on the
icon.

Aryan: Ok, Now tell me how can I create shortcut?

Gowri: Steps to create a shortcut are:
1. Open the location containing the item that you want to create a shortcut

2. Right-click the object and then click Create shortcut.
3. The new shortcut appears in the same location as the original item.

4. Drag the new shortcut to the desired location.

9.5 CALCULATOR

Aryan: I have learnt very well about the shortcuts, is there any way to do calculations in
Windows 10?

Gowri: Yes, there is calculator in Windows for calculation. You can access it from
the Start Menu. Click on the Start button to show the Start Menu, and type
"Calculator" In the search bar, then click on the Calculator.
