5.3 MAIN IMPRESS WINDOW
All the students were ready in the computer lab to
explore Impress. They all started their system and

opened Impress as per steps shown in Fig 5.2. All
were very excited to see first Window of Impress.
                 (Fig 5.3) .

Aryan: “Hey Gowri, look, isn’t this impress window much like that of Writer.
Are both these applications same in working?”

Gowri: No Aryan. Though many options are exactly same in both Writer and
Impress but the way of working is totally different. Let us see together what
are the different parts of Impress window:

                 1. Title Bar, 2. Menu Bar, 4. Standard Toolbar, 7. Scrollbars
These are exactly the same as you have studied in other applications like scratch,

                 Tux paint, Writer.

                 3. Properties Window / Task Pane
Shows the properties of selected objects. E.g. if slide is selected then it shows slide

related properties, if content is selected then it displays font related properties.

                 5. Slide Pane/Slides
It is a vertical space by default at left side which contains included slides in your

presentation in small size. We can move easily to any slide by selecting slide from
                 this pane.

                                       1. Title bar 2.Menu bar 3. Properties window
