Next day, Gowri asked her teacher about such type of software. Her teacher told
that there are spreadsheet soft wares, which can be used for performing calculations.
Few spreadsheet softwares are:

• MS Excel

• OpenOffice Calc
• LibreOffice Calc

LibreOffice Calc is a spreadsheet software of LibreOffice Suit. Data is entered
in a spreadsheet and then data is manipulated and calculated in a spreadsheet.
LibreOffice Calc is similar to MS Excel.

In Calc, there are various functions which can be used to create formulas which
perform various calculations. A spreadsheet is a grid of rows and columns which

interactively manages and organizes data in rows and columns. It is also known as
Electronic Spreadsheet.

6.2 HOW TO START LIBREOFFICE CALC?
The teacher started explaining to the students the method to open LibreOffice
Calc. The students were excited to know about it.

Extension of LibreOffice Calc is .ods.

In Windows, double-click on the shortcut of LibreOffice Calc on Start Menu or on
desktop to start LibreOffice Calc. Here you can create a new spreadsheet by the
following command: File New Calc Spreadsheet (as shown in the Fig. 6.1).
