Activity 5.1

Create a simple spaceship game where the spaceship has 5 lives. In this game,
planets are the targets and move towards the spaceship to destroy it. The

spaceship can fire missiles when the space bar is pressed. It can also be moved
using the left, right, up, and down arrow keys. When a missile hits a planet, the
planet is destroyed, and the score increases by one. When a planet hits the
spaceship, one life is lost, and the planet is destroyed.

Aryan: Oh wow! It’s a wonderful game. It’s looking
amazing. I am excited to learn how to make it.

Gowri: Yes Aryan, sure. Let’s
see the steps given next.

Step 1: First, we will add three sprites from “Choose a sprite” as follows: -

1. “rocketship” sprite and name it as “spaceship”, and design its costume
(named as “rocketship-e2”) using the “Costumes” tab as shown in figure
5.1.1.

2. “planet2” sprite and rename it as “planets” and design its two costumes
(named as “Planet2” and “Cloud”) using “costumes tab” as shown in figure
5.1.2.

3. Draw a new sprite, which looks like as missile and also name the sprite
as “missile”, (looks like )
