5.6 POINTING THE SPRITE IN A DIRECTION— “MOTION” BLOCK
5.6.1 “point in direction….” block:
This is a stack block which changes the direction of the
sprite towards left, right, up and down. (shown in figure 5.14
and the block itself is shown in figure 5.13)
i) 90⁰:-> means the direction of the sprite is towards right.
ii) -90⁰:-> means the direction of the sprite is towards the
left.
iii) 0⁰:-> means the direction of the sprite is towards up.
iv) 180⁰:-> means the direction of the sprite is towards

5.6.2 “point towards...” block
This is a “stack” block and has a dropdown menu having two options:
5.6.2.1 “point towards mouse pointer” block
This block points the direction of the sprite towards mouse pointer.
5.6.2.2 “point towards sprite-name” block
This block points the direction of the sprite towards the chosen sprite.
Let’s understand it with the help of an activity.
Activity 5.4
Add two sprites, “Cat” and “Balloon.” Place the “Cat” sprite on the left side of
the stage, pointing towards the right. Place the “Balloon” sprite on the right
side of the stage. When the green flag is clicked, every 2 seconds, the “Balloon”
sprite will move to a random position, and the “Cat” sprite will turn to face the
“Balloon” sprite.
