7.7 CYBER LAW AND IMPORTANCE
Aryan: Is there any law against Cybercrime so that the one can complain
and get justice?
Gowri: Yes, there is a Cyber law.
Cyber law is the legal system applied to the internet and
internet-related technologies. It is formed to maintain
discipline and justice in the cyber world. It was introduced
in the legal system because crimes related to computers and
technology were increasing rapidly.
To impose cyber law, an Act was introduced:
“The Information Technology Act, 2000” (IT Act, 2000) is an Act of the Indian Parliament that
was notified on 17 October 2000. It is the primary law in India introduced to deal with cybercrime
and electronic commerce.
7.8 BACKUP AND RESTORE
Aryan: Thank God, there are some ways by which we can get justice. Now please
tell the way that if my system got damaged by some means. Is it possible that I
don’t lose my important data?
Gowri: Yes, the solution to this is BACKUP and RESTORE.
Backup and restore describe the process of creating and storing backup copies
of data which can be used in case of data loss to protect organisations. This is
sometimes referred to as operational recovery. Restore means recovering the
data to its original location, or to an alternate location where it can be used in
place of the lost or damaged data.
