INTERNET ETHICS
We all know that the Internet has become an important part of our day-to-day
activities. We use the Internet to search for information, send or receive
emails, do online banking, shopping, etc. Internet ethics are the good
practices that one should follow while using the Internet.
Some of the Internet ethics are as follows:
Do not deceive others by hiding your identity online.
Avoid using rude or offensive language in emails, blogs, and social networking sites.
Do not share personal information with unknown individuals.
Avoid accessing inappropriate websites.
Do not use someone else’s username and password to access their emails.
UNETHICAL PRACTICES
Unethical practices are actions that are morally wrong or unacceptable. Such practices are often
considered cyber crimes. Common examples of cyber crimes include stealing someone’s bank details
or spreading viruses within computer systems. Let’s discuss some specific unethical practices.
Copyright
Copyright is a type of legal protection that gives the creator
of a work—like a picture, video, song, or story—the exclusive
right to control how their work is used. This means they
decide who can copy, share, or sell it. When someone
creates something original, copyright automatically applies
to protect their hard work and creativity.
Why is it important?
If you want to use someone else’s work such as a photo for your school project or a video for a
presentation, you must ask for their permission first. Using someone’s work without permission is like
taking something that belongs to them without asking, which is unfair.
