Based on Business Ownership
This category refers to how the business is owned, whether by an individual (solo) or shared between
partners who divide responsibilities and profits.
Solo Entrepreneurs
Solo entrepreneurs run their businesses alone. They are the boss and handle everything, from planning
to managing the business. This type of entrepreneur works on their own without any partners.
Example:
Ayesha runs a bakery in her neighbourhood in Lahore. She makes cupcakes, cookies, and cakes by
herself and sells them to customers who walk into her shop. Ayesha takes care of everything, including
baking, packaging, and selling her products.
Partner Entrepreneurs
Partner entrepreneurs are those who run a business together with one or more people. They share the
responsibilities, decisions, and profits. It’s like having a business friend to help you out.
Example:
Ali and Ahmed opened a small mobile phone repair shop in Karachi. Both work together, with Ali
managing customer service and Ahmed handling repairs. They share the profits equally because they
work as partners in the business.
Based on Nature of Business
Entrepreneurs in this category focus on the type of business they run, such as trading goods,
manufacturing products, or working in agriculture to produce food and raw materials.
Trading Entrepreneurs
Trading entrepreneurs buy goods from other people and sell them to make a profit. They don’t create
the product but act as middlemen, making it available for customers.
Example:
Javed runs a small store selling clothes in Rawalpindi. He buys clothes from manufacturers in bulk and
sells them at a higher price in his shop. Javed makes money by selling the clothes to customers, and
this is called trading.
Manufacturing Entrepreneurs
Manufacturing entrepreneurs are those who make the products themselves. They create or produce
things, like toys, clothes, or food, and then sell them to customers.
Example:
Amina runs a factory in Karachi where she makes handmade carpets. She buys raw materials, creates
the carpets, and then sells them to stores across Pakistan. Amina is a manufacturing entrepreneur
because she produces the carpets herself.
