Agricultural Entrepreneurs

Agricultural entrepreneurs focus on farming or producing food from the land. They grow crops or raise
animals and sell the products to make money.

            Example:
Rashid owns a farm in Karachi where he grows tomatoes and potatoes. He sells the vegetables to local
markets and grocery stores. Rashid is an agricultural entrepreneur because his business is based on
            farming.

            Based on Area of Operation

Entrepreneurs in this group operate businesses that range from small-scale, local operations to large-
scale enterprises that expand across cities, regions, or even countries.

            Small-Scale Entrepreneurs

Small-scale entrepreneurs run businesses that are small in size. They usually serve a local market and
often have fewer employees. These businesses are often family-run and are not very large.

            Example:

Samina runs a small tailoring shop in her neighbourhood in Peshawar. She sews clothes and does
alterations for people in her local area. Her shop is small, and she works with just a couple of helpers.
            Samina is a small-scale entrepreneur.
            Large-Scale Entrepreneurs

Large-scale entrepreneurs run big businesses that can operate in many areas and employ lots of people.
These businesses have a significant impact on the economy and can even be spread across countries.

            Example:

Engro Corporation is one of Pakistan’s largest companies. They are involved in many businesses like
agriculture, energy, and food. Engro operates in many different cities and employs thousands of people.
They make a big difference in Pakistan’s economy.

            Purpose-Based Entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurs based on purpose either focus on solving social issues and improving the community
(social entrepreneurs) or primarily aim for profit through commercial activities (commercial
            entrepreneurs).

            Social Entrepreneurs

Social entrepreneurs are people who start businesses not just to make money, but to solve social
problems and help improve society. They focus on making the world a better place.
            Example:

Imtiaz started an organisation that provides free education to children in villages where schools are
far away. His goal is not to make money but to help children get a good education, regardless of where
            they live.

#Entrepreneurship in the Digital Age 125
