SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a universal call to action launched by the United
Nations in 2015 to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all by 2030. These 17
goals cover a broad range of social, economic, and environmental development issues that affect every
country worldwide.
SDG 1: No Poverty
End poverty in all its forms everywhere.
Example: Programs like the Ehsaas initiative aim to reduce poverty by providing
financial support to vulnerable populations.
SDG 2: Zero Hunger
End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable
agriculture.
Example: Promoting climate-smart agriculture to improve food production in drought-
prone areas.
SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being
Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all ages.
Example: Expanding immunisation campaigns and telemedicine services in rural
Pakistan.
SDG 4: Quality Education
Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning
opportunities for all.
Example: Government and NGOs increasing access to education through digital
classrooms.
SDG 5: Gender Equality
Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
Example: Women entrepreneurship programs and campaigns against gender-based
violence.
SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
Example: Community-led clean water projects in remote villages.
SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all.
Example: Solar energy initiatives in off-grid rural areas.
