E-mail Authentication for Website Login

E-mail authentication helps keep your account safe. When you sign up on a website, you'll get a
verification e-mail. You must click the link or enter a code to confirm your e-mail. This proves that you
own the e-mail. Some websites also send a code to your e-mail or phone for extra security, making sure
              only you can log in.

                   UNDERSTANDING E-MAIL PROTOCOLS

E-mail protocols are rules that help send and receive e-mails. Here are three common ones:

SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol): This is the system that helps send e-mails to other people.
It moves your e-mail from your computer to the recipient's e-mail server.
POP3 (Post Office Protocol version 3): POP3 helps you download e-mails from the e-mail server
to your computer, so you can read them offline. Once downloaded, the e-mails are usually deleted
                 from the server.

IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol): IMAP lets you read your e-mails on multiple devices.
Unlike POP3, it keeps your e-mails on the server, so you can access them from your phone, tablet, or
                 computer.

                         Timeline

E-Mail allows exchanging messages electronically over a network, both online and offline.
Popular e-mail platforms include Gmail, Yahoo Mail, and Outlook.
E-Mail uses include communication, sending assignments, sharing files, and job applications.
An E-Mail address has three parts: Username, @ symbol, and Domain Name.
Effective E-Mail requires clear messages and the correct use of fields like To, Cc, Bcc, and Subject.

E-Mail protocols include SMTP for sending e-mails, POP3 for downloading e-mails, and IMAP for
                       accessing e-mails across multiple devices.
