Global Positioning System (GPS)
The Global Positioning System, or GPS, is a satellite-based navigation system that provides precise location
and time information anywhere on Earth. It works by receiving signals from at least four of a constellation
of satellites orbiting the planet. GPS is used extensively in navigation systems for cars, ships, and aircraft, as
well as in smartphones and wearable devices. Beyond navigation, GPS technology supports applications
such as fleet tracking, geocaching, mapping, surveying, and emergency rescue operations. The system
enhances safety, efficiency, and convenience in daily life and across various industries.
Bluetooth
Bluetooth technology provides short-range wireless communication between devices, typically
within a range of 10 to 100 meters. It operates in the 2.4 GHz frequency band and is designed for low
power consumption, making it suitable for battery-powered gadgets. Bluetooth enables devices like
headphones, speakers, keyboards, mice, smartphones, and smartwatches to connect and exchange
data seamlessly. It also supports personal area networks (PANs) and is widely used in applications
such as wireless audio streaming, file transfer, and home automation. Bluetooth’s ease of use and
widespread adoption make it a key technology for everyday wireless connectivity.
EMERGING NETWORKING CONCEPTS
As technology advances, new networking concepts are emerging that transform how devices
communicate, process data, and deliver services. These concepts help improve efficiency, speed, and
decision-making in modern networks.
