Document Area: It is the area where text can be typed, deleted or edited.

Cursor: In the document area, you can see a vertical blinking line. It is called
cursor. It indicates the position where the typed characters will appear.

Ruler: There are two rulers present in Writer window. The horizontal ruler keeps
track of the width of the document page while the vertical ruler measures the
height of the work area.

Status Bar: It is located at the bottom of the Writer window. It displays the page
number and the number of words in the current document.

Zoom Slider: It is located at the right of the Status bar. It is used to enlarge and

reduce the size of the window quickly and easily.
Scroll Bar: There are two Scroll bars in the Writer window. The Vertical Scroll bar

helps to navigate the document up or down. The horizontal Scroll bar helps to
navigate the document left or right. By default there is Vertical Scroll bar.

Side Bar: It is located at the right side of the window.
It provides easy access to several tools that help to To create a new
format and manage the document. document:

To create a new document, follow the given steps:

1 Click on the
File menu.

option.
3 Select the Text
