3 Select the location of the file.
4 Type the desired
name for your file in
the File name box.
5 Click on Save
button.
The default extension of a Writer document is .odt. An extension is the part of a file
name that tells you what type of file it is.
Tick ( ) if you know this.
▶ Status bar is located at the bottom of the Writer window.
▶ New option is found under the File menu.
OPENING AN EXISTING DOCUMENT
To open a saved document, follow the steps given below:
1 Click on the File menu.
2 Select Open option.
