As you know, Writer is a Word processing software that is used to type text. In the
                 previous chapter, you have learnt about the basic features of Writer like create,

                 open, save, print and close a document. In this chapter, you will learn about editing
                 features like copy, move and delete text in a document. Making changes in the
                 existing text is called editing.




                           INSERTING TEXT


                 Writer allows you to insert new text in the already written document.

                 To  insert  text,  place  the

                 pointer  at  the  required
                 position  where  you  want
                 to insert the text and click.

                 Insertion  Point (cursor)
                 appears  on the  screen
                 to  indicate the position

                 where the inserted text will
                 appear. You can now type
                 the new text. Press the Spacebar key to give space between two words.

                           SELECTING TEXT


                 To make changes to the existing text, you need to select it. You can select the text in
                 two ways: by using a mouse and by using a keyboard.
