FORMULA BAR

The Formula Bar displays the data, formula or calculation in the active cell, as well as any
edits made to the cell's content.

CELL
Intersection of a row and a column is called a cell. The entire spreadsheet is filled with cells
which hold the user data.

CELL ADDRESS

Cell address is a reference address of a cell. It is combination of column name and row
number. If we say A1 means we are referring to the cell address of First column and
First row.

ACTIVE CELL
The currently selected cell is called the Active cell. We can identify it by its coloured

cell border.

ROWS

Horizontal line of cells is called a row. A row in Calc spreadsheet is numbered 1,2,3 so on.
There are 10,48,576 rows in a Calc spreadsheet, this makes it popular among large data
users. Row numbers are displayed in the left-hand side as row header.

COLUMNS

Vertical lines which run through entire spreadsheet are called columns. Columns are
addressed as A, B, C and so on. There are 1,024 columns in a Calc spreadsheet. The Column
names are displayed just below the formula bar in the column header.

SCROLL BAR
There are two scroll bars in the window. The Vertical Scroll bar to move up and down and

the Horizontal Scroll bar to move Right and Left on the worksheet.

SHEET TAB

This area displays the name of the working sheet. By default, a single sheet is opened to
work. It has many control buttons to work on multiple sheets. There is a Plus (+) button to
add new sheets.

STATUS BAR

It lies at the bottom of the screen. It shows the current status of an active application.
