MOVING IN A TABLE

We can move from one cell to another in a table by using the mouse or the keyboard. The
following keys help us to move easily in a table:

Cursor Movement Keys

To move to a cell on the right Tab

To move to a cell on the left Shift + Tab

To move up by one row Up Arrow

To move down by one row Down Arrow

To move to the first cell of the row Alt + Home

To move to the last cell of the row Alt + End

To move to the first cell of the column Alt + Page Up key

To move to the last cell of the column Alt + Page Down key

SELECTING DIFFERENT PARTS OF A TABLE

Word 2016 allows you to select the cell, row and column.

To select a row, click in the row selection To select a cell,
area of the row you want to select. double-click in the cell.

To select a column: Hover the mouse at the top of a column. The
mouse pointer changes to a downward pointing arrow then click
on the column to select it.

You can also select the adjacent cells by clicking on a cell and dragging through the rows

or columns. You can select an entire table using the Table Move Handle located at the
upper-left corner of the table when you hover your mouse over it.
