MERGING CELLS IN A TABLE

                  Word 2016 allows us to merge two or more cells to create a larger cell. Cells can be merged

                  either column-wise or row-wise. To merge the cells, follow the given steps:

                        3  Click on the Merge Cells option.         2  Click on the Layout tab.







                                                                                   The selected cells are merged
                                                                                       into a single large cell.

                                                             to merge.





                            SPLITTING CELLS IN A TABLE


                  Sometimes, we need to split a cell into rows or columns. We can split a cell into the required

                  number of rows or columns. To split a cell, follow the given steps:


                           3  Click on the Split Cells option.    2  Click on the Layout tab.


                                                                                         4  Enter the desired number
                                                                                         in the Number of columns
                                                                                         and Number of rows box.












                         1  Select the cell that you want to split.
                                                                                         5  Click on the OK button.

                  The selected cell splits according to the specified numbers of columns and rows.
