OUTPUT DEVICES

The devices that display the results of processing done by the CPU are called
output devices. Output can be a printout from the printer, sound from the

speakers, image on the monitor or content on the projector. The most commonly
used output devices are printer, monitor, speakers, projector, plotter, etc.

Printer: A printer is an output device used to print text or pictures. There are three

types of printers: Dot matrix printer, Inkjet printer and Laser printer.

Monitor: A monitor is an output device used to display information processed by

the computer. Whatever you type on the keyboard is seen on the monitor.
The monitor is also known as Visual Display Unit or VDU. There are different types
of monitors:

and sounds stored in a computer. It gives an output in the form of a
