COMPONENTS OF WORD 2021

Let us learn about the various components of Word 2021 window.

Status bar Zoom slider

Title bar: It is located at the top of the Word 2021 window. It displays the name
of the current document. It also displays window control buttons like Minimize,
Maximize/Restore and Close buttons on the right corner.

Quick Access Toolbar: It is located in the upper left corner of the title bar. It contains
frequently used commands such as Save, Undo, Redo, Print Preview, etc.

Ribbon: It is located just below the title bar. It contains different commands,
groups and tabs.

File tab: It is located at the upper left corner of the window. It contains different

options like Save, Save As, Open, Print, Share, etc.
Document area: It is the area where text can be typed, deleted or edited.

Cursor: In the document area, you can see a vertical blinking line. It is called
cursor. It indicates the position where the typed characters will appear.

Ruler: There are two rulers present in the Word 2021 window. The horizontal ruler
keeps track of the width of the document page while the vertical ruler measures

the height of the work area.

Status bar: It is located at the bottom of Word 2021 window. It displays the page
number and the number of words in the current document.
