As you know, Word 2021 is a word-processing software used to type text. It also has
many ready-made shapes that you can easily insert into your document. In this
chapter, you will learn editing features such as copying, moving and deleting text.
Making changes to text that is already written is called editing. You will also learn
how to insert pictures, add stylish text and modify them.
INSERTING TEXT
Word 2021 allows you to insert new text into an already written document.
To insert text, place the pointer at the required position where you want to insert the
text and click. An Insertion
Point (cursor) appears on the
screen to indicate the position
where the inserted text will
appear. You can now type the
new text. Press the Spacebar
key to give space between
two words.

To make changes to the existing text, you need to select it. You can select the text in
two ways: by using a mouse and by using a keyboard.
