TYPES OF COMPUTER MEMORY
The computer memory can be classified into two types:
Primary Memory Secondary Memory
Computer Memory
Primary Memory Secondary Memory

PRIMARY MEMORY
Primary memory is the main memory of the computer. It is also known as internal memory.
It holds the data and instructions that the computer is currently working on and makes it
easily accessible for the CPU to process.
Primary memory is further divided into two types:
Random Access Memory (RAM)
RAM is a volatile memory. The data or information stored in
this memory is lost when the processing is incomplete or the
computer is turned off. That's why it is also called temporary RAM
memory. There are two types of RAM:
Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM)
Static Random Access Memory (SRAM)
