                 X

In 2006, Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone and Evan Williams launched X, previously known as
Twitter, as a social networking and microblogging site. It was released by an American company,
Odeo. In 2022, Elon Musk took over the platform. It is designed for sharing short updates and
messages. These messages are called posts. The posts are limited to 280 characters only. In X,
you follow people or organisations that share similar academic and personal interests. You can

create your own X feeds. You can also repost the posts created by others.
If a post is liked by a lot of people across the globe and it gets many likes, shares and comments,
it is said to have gone Viral. Posts can be anything-pictures, links, GIFs or videos. By default, the
posts are PUBLIC on X. This means that anyone can view the post.
