HIDING/UNHIDING A LAYER
By default, all the layers added and duplicated are visible. To hide a

particular layer temporarily while working on other layers, click on
the open-eye-shape icon in the beginning of each layer name in
the Layers docker. The layer will get hidden from the file. But, this
does not mean that the contents of the layer will get deleted. Only
its effect is temporarily removed from the file.

To unhide the hidden layer, click on the closed-eye-shape icon in the beginning of the hidden
layer’s name in the Layers docker. The icon will change to the open-eye-shape icon again and the
content of the layer will also become visible.

                 RENAMING A LAYER

Krita uses the name of the layer according to its settings. However, if the file has many layers, it will
become difficult for the user to remember which content or effect was used in which layer. To solve
this problem, Krita allows the user to rename the layers. To rename a layer, follow the given steps:

                       1 Double-click on the
name of the layer in the
                      Layers docker. Type the
                      new name for the layer.

2 Click on the blank area
                     in the Layers docker.

The layer name will be changed.

                 MOVING A LAYER

Layers can be moved up and down in the Layers docker. To move a layer, follow the given steps:

                                                  1 Select the layer in
                                                 the Layers docker.

2 Click on the Move layer or mask up
or Move layer or mask down button at
the bottom of the Layers docker.

The selected layer will be moved one layer up/down.
