Operating System is one of the most important software as without it, we cannot use
our computer at all. In this chapter, we are going to explore more about the most
commonly used GUI-based operating system, Windows 10.

computer system. There are two types of operating systems: GUI and CUI.

GUI: It stands for Graphical User Interface. It is very simple to use because it
provides various menus and icons for the user to work with.

CUI: It stands for Character User Interface. It is a command-based system only.
The user can operate the system with the help of various commands.

Starting Windows 10

When you switch on the computer, the operating system stored on your computer
starts loading itself into its main memory. After a few seconds, a Welcome Screen
appears with the time and date.
