Definition of Robots
A robot is a type of automated machine that can execute specific tasks with little or no
human intervention and with speed and precision.

Types of Robots according to their Applications
Robots are of different type according to their functionality. They are:
• Medical Robots: The most common robots of this
category are surgical robots. Some of them are also
used for rehabilitation and emotional support for
patients, etc.
• Domestic Robots: These robots are used to perform
household chores. Their applications includes pool
cleaning, vacuum cleaners, gutter cleaning, etc.
• Security Robots: These robots operate 24/7 even
in adverse conditions. Some of the applications are
surveillance, facial recognition, supply information,
temperature detection etc.
