In the final stage, the system uses its analysis to decide who the person is. When a
new traveller stands in front of the camera, the system compares the live image with

its memory and identifies the person. This stage is called interpretation, where the
system makes a decision based on the patterns it has recognised.

Through these three steps—training, analysis, and interpretation—the facial recognition system
becomes capable of accurately identifying individuals in real time.

Applications of Computer Vision in Everyday Life

Whether it’s spotting faces, reading signs, or sorting packages, Computer Vision is part of our
daily routine. CV is now present everywhere around us.

Let’s explore different applications where CV is used.

                 Face Recognition

Face recognition is a technology that allows systems
to identify or verify a person based on the features
of their face. It works by capturing an image of a
person's face and comparing it to a database of known

faces to find a match. This technology uses specific
algorithms to analyse key facial features such as the
distance between the eyes, the shape of the nose, and

the contour of the jawline. Face recognition is used in
airports and security systems to identify individuals. It is also used in smartphones to unlock the
screen or open apps using your face.
