Autonomous Vehicles

Autonomous vehicles (also known as self-driving
cars) are equipped with a variety of advanced
                                                                  technologies, including cameras, radars and

sensors, to allow the vehicle to navigate and make
                                                                  decisions without human intervention. These
vehicles use Computer Vision (CV) and Artificial

Intelligence (AI) algorithms to interpret the data
collected by these sensors and make real-time decisions about how to drive safely The cameras
and sensors in these vehicles are used to detect traffic lights, pedestrians, and road signs to drive
                  safely.

                  Medical Image Analysis

Medical Image Analysis is one of the most impactful
applications of Computer Vision (CV) in the

healthcare sector. It leverages CV technologies to
process, analyse, and interpret medical images such
as X-rays, MRI scans, and CT scans. The primary
goal is to assist healthcare professionals in

diagnosing medical conditions such as tumors,
fractures, infections, and other abnormalities. By automating the analysis of these complex
images, CV helps improve diagnostic accuracy, speed up the process, and reduce human error,
ultimately leading to better patient care.

                                                      Reading Text from Images (OCR-Optical
                                                      Character Recognition)

The Optical Character Recognition uses CV to read printed
or handwritten text from images or scanned documents. It
is useful in digitising books, receipts and IDs. The Google

Translate app has a very handy feature that helps you read
signs or text in a foreign language. Instead of manually
typing words or phrases to translate, you can simply point
your phone’s camera at the text, and the app will instantly
show you the translation in your preferred language. The app uses a technology called Optical

Character Recognition (OCR), which allows it to "see" the text in the image. OCR scans the letters
and words in the picture, recognising them just like a human would read them.
