• Goal: Help students deepen their knowledge of renewable and non-renewable
resources and how to develop sustainability.
• Children will cut a chart paper into square pieces and draw/write in bold:
Sun, Coal, Trees, Wind, Plastic, Water, Natural Gas

Now, students will answer the following questions:
1. Which resources are used daily?

2. How can we protect our environment by improving our habits?

3. How can non-renewable resources be protected?

Importance of Sustainability for Society

Sustainability is essential to preserve our resources for the future. It helps reduce pollution,
protect wildlife, and maintain a healthy environment for future generations.

The following points shows the importance of sustainability for society:
• Protecting the Environment: To reduce pollution, protect wildlife, and keep our Mother
Nature healthy, it is important to lead a sustainable life and safeguard our environment.
• Saving Resources for the Future: We should avoid overusing natural resources like water,

fuel, and forests so that future generations can enjoy them as well.
• Ensuring Access to Clean Water and Air: Sustainable habits keep our air fresh and water

safe to drink, helping to prevent diseases and pollution.
• Creating a Fair and Justice Society: Sustainability ensures that all communities have
equal access to resources and opportunities, thus promoting a fair and just society.
• Improving Quality of Life: If we aspire to enhance the quality of life, we must practice

sustainability for healthier food, cleaner surroundings, and safer communities for all.
• Supporting Economic Growth: Utilising solar energy and promoting eco-tourism can
create new economic opportunities while preserving our planet’s health. This will support

our economic growth.
