Automatically Fit Column/Row Content

You can adjust the row height and column width according to the height and width of the contents in
the cell. To fit column/row content automatically, follow these steps:

Double-click on any boundary between 2
1 Click on the Select two column/row headings.

                 INSERTING ROWS/COLUMNS

Suppose you want to add more data between two rows or columns. Then you might need to move the
data by using the copy and paste method to create space between rows or columns. However, this
process is not available when you have a large amount of data. Instead, you can simply insert new rows
or columns to create the space you need.

To insert a row or column in a worksheet, follow these steps:

                       2 3
Click on Home tab. Click on Insert button.

                 MERGING CELLS

While working on Excel, you might need to combine some cells to show a part of the data under one
heading. Combining two or more cells is known as merging. To merge cells, follow these steps:

                                                                      2 3
Click on Home tab. Click on Merge & Center command.

                      Select two or more
                  1 adjacent cells that
                      you want to merge.
