Task Communication
1. Mock Parliament Session.
Set up a mock parliament session where the class will be divided into two groups representing
ruling party and opposition. The Ministry of Science and Technology will lead the session
analysing the ethical issues of implementation of AI in our country. The two sides will debate
for and against and the voting will take place at the end.
2. Divide the class into various small groups and have a debate on:
• possible bias in data collection.
• will it be fine to use AI when there is a possible threat of loosing jobs by many unskilled
workers?
• should income be shared by humans and machines when machines take place of humans?
• AI is a boon or a bane?

At a Glance
• AI Ethics are code of conduct that should be followed in the development and usage of AI
machines and systems.
• The need of AI Ethics is to define ownership.
• Inequality, Unemployment, Gender gap etc. are some of the major ethical issues.
• It is suggested that positions like caretaker of the elderly, solider, nurses, doctors etc. should not
be replaced by AI machines.
• Machine Ethics majorly deals with the ethical issues of AI-applied machinery.
• Many organisations such as public, government, social and private are working on AI Ethics and
policies.
• AI bias is an irregularity in the output of machine algorithms.
• There are many types of AI biases such as perspective data biases, incomplete data and people
biases.
• Having a certain kind of feeling towards a group may affect the algorithm made by the designers,
resulting in perspective data bias.
• If the data on which the model of a system is being trained remains incomplete, then it leads to
incomplete data bias.
