Imagine you want to build a Lego house. You would not just stick pieces together
randomly. You had first plan what the house should look like, choose the right

blocks, and then start building part by part.

That is algorithmic thinking. You plan, decide, and act in a way that helps you
                 reach your goal easily.

                 Thinking Like a Problem Solver

Computers follow algorithms to complete tasks, but humans create those

algorithms using logical thinking. Algorithmic thinking helps us make good
decisions, find patterns, and fix mistakes.

                 Example 1 Making Lemonade

Suppose you want to make a glass of lemonade. You think about what you

need and how to do it.

Things you need: lemons, sugar, water, a glass, and a spoon.

What to do: squeeze the lemon, add sugar, pour water, stir well, and enjoy.

You thought through the problem and created a clear way to solve it. That is
                 algorithmic thinking.

                 Example 2 Solving a Puzzle

When you solve a jigsaw puzzle, you first find the corner pieces, then connect
the edges, and finally fill in the middle.

You are not just guessing. You are using logical steps and planning ahead.

                 Why Algorithmic Thinking is Useful?

Algorithmic thinking helps children to do multiple tasks.

Whenever you try to make something work better or faster, you’re already

                 practising algorithmic thinking.
