For example, shaking the device can make a selected icon appear on the
                    LED display.

n Compass: It detects magnetic fields, like the Earth's, allowing it to determine the
direction it is facing and measure movement in degrees. This data can be used

in a program or sent to another device.

n Touch sensor: The gold Micro:bit logo can be used as a touch-sensitive input,
allowing the Micro:bit to respond when it is touched. For example, touch the logo
to display or a smiley face on the LED display.

n Light sensor: A light sensor is an input device that measures light levels. It can
read the light levels in the environment, useful for projects like a night-light or
                    solar-powered device.

n Temperature sensor: It is an input device that measures temperature. The

Micro:bit uses its processor’s temperature to estimate the surrounding air
temperature and displays the current temperature on the LED display.

n LED display: The LED display is an output device that emits light. It has a
5×5 matrix of 25 red LEDs on its front, which forms a small display used to show

                    messages, numbers or symbols.
n Radio: The Micro:bit has a built-in radio with Bluetooth that can send and receive

wireless signals. It sends messages as output and receives messages as input,
making it both an input and output device.

n Edge connector: The Edge Connector has pins along its bottom edge. These pins

can be used as output pins to send electrical signals to other devices and allow
you to connect external components and accessories to the Micro:bit, expanding
its capabilities beyond the built-in features.

n Sound output: It has a built-in speaker that allows it to play sounds and music

                    without needing any external
components. SMART The Micro:bit is used by students
                                                                                everywhere to learn coding and
These input and output devices SPARK problem-solving in a fun way.
                    make the Micro:bit a powerful

and fun tool for creating interactive projects.

Is it right to use the micro:bit to track someone’s location,
even if it's for their safety? Should people be told if they are
being tracked? Discuss why or why not.
