Ways to Sort

There are many ways to sort data or objects. Here are

                 some examples:

 By colour: Grouping objects of the same colour
together is an easy way to sort. For example, a

collection of pens can be sorted by colour, like:

                     Blue pens

                     Black pens

                     Green pens

 By size: Sorting data by size means grouping the
large items together and the small ones together.

For example, a collection of plants can be sorted
                                                          by size:

                                                           Tall plants

                                                           Medium-sized plants

                                                           Short plants

 By type: Data can also be sorted by
type. For example, type of colours can

be organised into categories such as:

                     Water colours

                     Pencils

                     Crayons
                     Wax colours

 By shape: Sorting by shape means grouping
objects with the same shape. For example, a

collection of blocks can be organised into:
                                                           Triangle blocks

                                                           Square blocks

                                                           Star-shaped blocks

                                                                                             Data Around Us 23
