or rule. A sequence can be made up of numbers, shapes, colours or even actions. By

following a rule, we can predict what comes next in the sequence. Creating your own
sequence helps you understand patterns and this is an important skill for solving

problems and doing tasks in daily life.

How to Create Simple Sequences

Following are the steps to create a simple sequence:

Step 1 Pick a rule: First, choose a rule or pattern. This rule tells you how to go
from one thing to the next.

 Example 1: If the rule is "Add 2", the sequence will go like this: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10...
 Example 2: If the rule is "Add 1", the sequence will go like this: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5...

Step 2 Decide on what to use: You can create a sequence using numbers, shapes

or anything else! Choose what you want to make the sequence with.

 Numbers: You can create number sequences like 1, 3, 5, 7, 9… (Add 2
each time).
