SAFE USE OF WEBSITES Skills
Rohan was playing an online game on the computer at home when a pop-up
message suddenly appeared on his screen. The message said, "Click here to win a
free prize!" and asked him to enter his name and phone number. Rohan felt excited because
he liked winning prizes, but at the same time, he felt a little unsure. He remembered what his
teacher had taught him about staying safe online.
Instead of clicking the pop-up, Rohan decided to call his parent for help. His parent explained
that some pop-up messages can be dangerous because they may try to trick people into
sharing personal information. They also explained that legitimate websites do not usually ask
for personal details like that.
Rohan felt relieved that he had made the right choice by not clicking on the pop-up. He learned
the importance of being careful about the websites he visits and the links he clicks on.
Based on the above case, answer the following questions:
1. What did the pop-up message ask Rohan to do?
2. What did Rohan’s parent explain to him?
If the day before yesterday was Sunday, what day will it be the day after tomorrow?
a) Tuesday b) Wednesday
c) Thursday d) Friday
PERSONAL INFORMATION AWARENESS
Personal information includes things like your full name, address, phone number,
email and photos. It is important to be mindful of
what you share online. Here are some ways to
protect your personal information.
Keep Personal Information Private
Never share your personal details online, especially
with people you don’t know. This includes your
name, home address, phone number and the name
of your school.
