EXPLORING DATA IN

PRIMARY PREVIEW
Data vs Information Numeric and Textual Data
Questionnaires Tables & Categories
Bar and Line Graphs
Data is a collection of raw and unorganised facts, such as numbers, words, pictures
or measurements. By itself, data does not have much meaning. It needs to be
arranged and understood properly to become useful. When data is organised in a
meaningful way, it is called information.
DATA VS INFORMATION
Data means raw facts or figures that are not arranged in any order. These can be
numbers, words, pictures or measurements. When data is not organised, it does
not have a clear meaning. To make it useful, we need to arrange and understand it.
Without this, data is just a group of numbers, words or symbols.
There are two main types of data:
Quantitative data: This type of data is about numbers that we can measure. For
example, height, weight or age.
Qualitative data: This type of data is not about numbers. It includes opinions,
descriptions or categories. For example, how a student feels about a subject or
how good a product is.
