Ask for guidance: If unsure about citation requirements, seek help from teachers, mentors or
style guides.
Use plagiarism detection tools: Verify your work using online plagiarism checkers to identify
unintentional overlaps.
Balance research with original ideas: Combine insights from research with your own analysis
or perspective.
Explore Google Scholar: Use reliable sources from Google Scholar and always cite them when
used. This enhances the quality of your work and adds a professional touch to your writing.
Hacking
Hacking refers to the act of gaining unauthorised access to a computer
system or network. It can be divided into two main categories:
Malicious hacking: This involves illegal activities, such as accessing
or exploiting computer systems or networks to steal data, disrupt
operations, spy or cause harm.
Ethical hacking: This is a lawful and authorised activity where
individuals, known as “white-hat hackers,” access computer systems or networks to identify
and fix vulnerabilities, preventing them from being exploited by malicious hackers.
Steps to Prevent Hacking
Enable two-factor authentication to add an extra layer of security.
Avoid clicking on suspicious links or downloading unknown files.
Set up a firewall and antivirus software and perform regular scans on your hard drives to
ensure protection.
Always keep your password secure and complex, using a combination of numbers, special
characters, lowercase and uppercase letters. Change it periodically and never share it with
anyone.
Be cautious and avoid clicking on pop-up ads that offer to scan your computer for viruses.
Hackers may try to exploit open Bluetooth signals to access your devices. Disable Bluetooth
when it's not needed and take extra care when connecting to public Wi-Fi networks.
Phishing
Phishing is a common online scam designed to trick people into
revealing personal information. It often appears legitimate or
trustworthy at first, but its main aim is to steal sensitive details, such
as passwords, bank account information or private messages.
