Photo organisation: Photo organisation uses computer vision to
automatically sort and categorise images based on objects, faces,
locations and events. It helps users quickly find specific photos
without manual tagging. This technology improves digital storage
management by grouping similar images, removing duplicates and
enhancing searchability across large photo libraries on devices and
cloud systems efficiently and securely.
Smart shopping assistants: Smart shopping assistants are
transforming the retail experience by using computer vision to
make shopping more efficient and convenient. Retailers apply
this technology to recognise products on shelves, monitor
inventory levels and enable cashier-free checkouts. As a result,
both customer experience and store operations are improved,
making shopping faster, smoother and more personalised.
Gaming (Augmented Reality): In augmented reality gaming,
titles like Pokémon Go use computer vision through the player’s
camera to place and animate virtual objects within the
real-world environment, creating an interactive and immersive
experience.
Google's search by image: While Google typically searches
using text, it can also perform searches using images with the
help of computer vision. When an image is uploaded, Google
analyses it and compares it with a vast database of images
to find matches or similar visuals, delivering accurate results
based on the content of the picture.
