Wildlife Loss
Have you ever thought about why dinosaurs no longer
exist on Earth? They disappeared long ago because
of major natural disasters and sudden environmental
changes. Today, environmental changes are again
affecting many living creatures. Studies suggest that
the increasing number of mobile towers in cities may be
harming bird populations. When the surroundings change too much, some species find it difficult
to survive. As a result, many animals and birds are becoming rare or endangered.
The loss of wildlife is becoming an even bigger problem, with many animals and plants disappearing
because of habitat destruction, poaching and conflicts between humans and wildlife. As forests
shrink and human settlements grow, animals lose their homes and their food sources. For example,
when forests are cut down for agriculture or development, animals that rely on those forests for
shelter and food struggle to survive.
Poaching is also a serious threat. Even though there are strict laws to protect endangered
species, illegal hunting continues. Poachers target animals for their skin, bones and other body
parts, which are sold for profit. These actions harm the balance of nature and push species
closer to extinction.
