How AI Helps
AI-based Virtual Health Assistants are transforming healthcare by offering quick, personalised
and easy medical support to patients without the need to visit hospitals or clinics. These smart
systems help people manage their health more effectively and improve access to healthcare
services. Here’s how AI helps in this area:
AI technology can help patients remember to take their medicines at the correct time and
remind them about doctor appointments or follow-up check-ups. Today, many mobile health
applications use AI assistants to organise prescriptions, send medicine reminders and safely
maintain digital health records in an efficient manner.
AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants can answer common health-related questions
instantly and provide basic guidance for minor health problems. The Government of Madhya
Pradesh introduced the AI-based SUMAN SAKHI chatbot to offer 24×7 health support for
women. This chatbot provides useful information related to maternal healthcare, pregnancy
care and high-risk pregnancy conditions, especially for women living in remote areas.
AI and Intelligent Automation
Have you ever thought about how many everyday tasks are completed quickly and efficiently with
little effort from us? This is all thanks to AI and automation working together.
For example, in the past, washing machines needed manual adjustments to set the wash duration,
water level and cycle type based on the clothes being washed. But now, AI-powered washing
machines can automatically detect the load size, fabric type and how dirty the clothes are. They
adjust the amount of water, detergent and washing time based on these factors. This makes the
washing process more efficient, saves water and energy and reduces the need for human effort.
In India, AI-driven automation is being used in many different industries, including transportation,
agriculture, banking, healthcare and home appliances. Here are some of the key areas where AI
is helping:
Smart transportation: AI helps optimise traffic flow, reduce travel time and even power self-
driving cars. It makes transportation safer and more efficient.
Agriculture: AI is used to monitor crops, predict weather patterns and optimise irrigation. This
helps farmers make better decisions and increase crop yield.
Smart homes: In smart homes, AI-powered devices can control lighting, heating and security
systems automatically, making homes more energy-efficient and comfortable.
By integrating AI into daily life, we can make tasks easier, save resources and increase productivity
in various fields.
Smart Transportation
Busy roads and traffic jams are a regular part of life in many Indian cities. People waste a lot of
time stuck in traffic when they could be studying, playing or being with their families. At the same
time, traffic congestion releases more harmful pollutants into the air.
