Think about the possible impact before sharing information with others
Technology has the power to shape society in many ways. Therefore, every user plays an important
role in ensuring that only accurate and responsible information is shared. By being cautious and
thoughtful, we can help reduce misinformation and promote a more informed and trustworthy
digital environment.

ACCOUNTABILITY AND HUMAN CONTROL
Suppose an AI system is being used in a bank to evaluate loan applications. The AI system
quickly analyses customer data such as income, credit history and financial behaviour and then
recommends whether a loan should be approved or rejected. This can save time and help banks
make faster decisions.
However, what if the system makes a mistake? Suppose the AI wrongly rejects a loan application
from a deserving customer because of incorrect data or biased training. In such a situation, an
important question arises:
Who should be held responsible?
Is it the machine that made the decision?
Or the people who designed, trained and used the system?
These questions lead us to the concept of accountability.
Accountability means that humans remain responsible for the decisions and actions of AI systems.
Even though AI can assist in analysing data and making predictions, the final responsibility always
lies with people. AI systems do not have emotions, judgment or ethical understanding. Therefore,
human supervision is necessary to ensure safe and fair decisions. Whenever AI systems are used,
we must consider some important questions:
Who created the AI system?
Who checks whether the system is working correctly?
