PATTERNS

Patterns are things that repeat or change in the same way again and again.

They help you guess what comes next and you can also see them in nature,
buildings and even in your school timetable.

There are two main types of patterns:

Number pattern Shape pattern

NUMBER PATTERN

A number pattern is a group of numbers that follows a rule, like adding,
subtracting or multiplying. You use that rule to find the next number.

Example 1:

3 5 7 9

Here, each number goes up by 2.

Example 2:

4, 7, 10, 13, __, __

This pattern goes up by 3 each time. So, the next numbers are: 16, 19
