PhET LAB AND CIRCUITS
Hello Children, let’s explore PhET Lab WHAT IS PhET LAB?
Basic Circuitry, a fun way to learn
how simple electrical circuits work. PhET is a free online platform that
offers interactive simulations for
learning science and math concepts.
Developed by the University of Colorado Boulder, it was founded in 2002 by Nobel
Laureate Carl Wieman.
WHY DO WE USE THE PhET LAB?
PhET Labs are used because they offer a powerful, flexible and engaging way to
explore scientific concepts, often beyond what’s possible in a traditional lab setting.
Here’s why educators and students love them:
PhET Lab is fun to use because it feels like a game.
It helps you see electricity in action.
There are no real wires or electricity, so it’s safe
You can try things out, make changes and explore how things work.
WHAT IS ELECTRICITY?
Electricity is a type of energy. It helps things work and move like lights, TVs, fans and
even toys.
You can't see electricity, but you can see what it does, like when the lights turn on
or a toy moves around.
For example:
Electricity makes lights glow so we can see.
It helps the fan spin and give us cool air.
It makes our favourite toys move or play music.
WHAT IS A CIRCUIT?
A circuit is like a little road or path that electricity uses to move around.
